3D PRINTING IN HOUSE AND HOW IT HELPS ACCESSORY EMERGENCY DEVELOP BETTER DESIGNS

Sarah Cole

Yes! Accessory Emergency has its own prototyping robot, it’s a beautiful UP BOX  3D printer and it allows us to play around with ideas visually and mechanically before going to manufacturing.

It’s a great way to play and nut things out before proceeding to the next stage, manufacturing is fraught with little problems especially when your doing it yourself, but we've come up with quite a few proprietary solutions for things with the 3D printing process that we would have taken allot longer to discover without it, this is great because it means we have much less waste, more time, and have shelved many things simply because they didn't cut the mustard at the prototyping stages.

Check out these little experiments created with a 3d printed tool , and cast silicone, and also a silicone tool made from a 3D Printed master model.

Whats happening this week at Accessory Emergency ? 09/03/17

Sarah Cole

Wow , Its bee a busy week , the Only One Mondri pieces have been going crazily well , turning the studio into a madhouse of production energy.  New editions are becoming available slowly, so keep you eye out for the color combo that is uniquely you xx

I have been procrastinating over how to use my first sample of digitally printed silk fabric, thanks to The Social Studio / The printing studio in Smith Street Collingwood. It's so expensive but so beautiful, I'm afraid to cut into it , stay alert but not alarmed to snag your original design in accessory emergency's new fabric. In the meantime ill be using the whole 3 meters as a giant swathe dress to swan around the studio, just like a modern Grecian goddess.

The first of hopefully many fun girly accessories have become available in the form of elegant but modern digitally embroidered pieces , the first one has appeared in the shop today.

Long time supporter and stockist of Accessory Emergency creations is having a very rare sale right now, don't miss this as The Something Different shop will be moving out of this premises very soon so it may be a while before you can get hold of something different's carefully curated designer wares and locally crafted items , fabrics and linens in many incarnations, scents, home wares and of course some iconic Melbourne Jewellery.

Thanks you Mardi for all of you support over the years , and i especially like the story about the Mimof neck-piece wearer derailing the board room conversation as all of the female executives took notes as to were they might procure there own Accessory Emergency original , of course the answer was this amazing boutique in hawthorn ---  The Something Different Shop
