USING HTV FILMS TO CUSTOMISE accessory emergency DESIGNS

Sarah Cole

We have loads of fun in the studio with this bright colourful heat transfer vinyl, and our KNK MAXX die cutter.  It allows us to customise our graphics to fit reclaimed fabric swatches, and quickly create unique mockups and one off bespoke creations. We also recycle all the inbetweeny bits as it creates unique little hieroglyphic patternations. Like allot of the Accessory Emergency unique pieces, they are often created via unplanned  or surprise aesthetics which tend to reveal  themselves midprocess.

We’ve also integrated some beautifully coloured foil tranfers that we found at Resource Rescue last week (read lasts weeks news for details on our wonderfully fun visit).  Have a look at some of those metallics.

This matte yellow vinyl is looking fab against a wild Fluoro apricot 80’s fabric, had now idea how good it might look until I decided to lay some remnants on the table this morning.

It’s  such a happy day when all these good things culminate in a unique design, and as a creative it’s just really critical that you push through those darker times, as nothing ever stays the same for long when you’re unplanning creativity.

OUR BASICS SALE HAS STARTED IN HONOUR OF THE CHANGE OF SEASON

Sarah Cole

Celebrate the annual transition to Autum with our basics sale. Our cool grey, black and white neckpieces are on sale and also 1 very special trip to hex bangle in matte black.  Ah melbourne full of grey and beautiful clouds, a time to appreciate the bright colour change in the trees and the more subdued palate in the sky.  And for the next little while you might still be able to wear your neckpieces on the outside of you clothes :)

3D PRINTING IN HOUSE AND HOW IT HELPS ACCESSORY EMERGENCY DEVELOP BETTER DESIGNS

Sarah Cole

Yes! Accessory Emergency has its own prototyping robot, it’s a beautiful UP BOX  3D printer and it allows us to play around with ideas visually and mechanically before going to manufacturing.

It’s a great way to play and nut things out before proceeding to the next stage, manufacturing is fraught with little problems especially when your doing it yourself, but we've come up with quite a few proprietary solutions for things with the 3D printing process that we would have taken allot longer to discover without it, this is great because it means we have much less waste, more time, and have shelved many things simply because they didn't cut the mustard at the prototyping stages.

Check out these little experiments created with a 3d printed tool , and cast silicone, and also a silicone tool made from a 3D Printed master model.
